File Name: 04wetark Author: William E. Thompson Comment: Bystanders TJ Claggett and Amanda Paal comfort a small child that was involved in a head-on collision Wednesday afternoon on Hwy. 45 East. The child was one of two infants that were strapped in car seats when the accident occured. The driver was a middle-aged woman presumed dead at the scene and a young girl was riding in the passenger's seat. Their early model Ford Escort collided with a SouthWestern Bell utility truck driven by Barry Bramblette of Fayetteville. Bramblette said the woman swerved around a turning vehicle and entered his lane. Bramblette refused transport. The four in the car were transported to Washington Regional Hospital. The State Trooper Corporal Johnson is working the accident. It occured around 4:30p.m. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, 8/26/98.
