File Name: 21wetark Author: William E. Thompson Comment: Stunt pilot Joe Kittenger shows off during a recent flight over Fayetteville. He was attempting to draw attention to the upcoming airshow the next day at the Fayetteville Airport. Kittenger's biggest claim to fame is that he holds the record for the highest freefall parachute jump. He took this record while pressure testing space suits for NASA during the early 1960s. He is also the only person to break the sound barrier with his body, another record set during his fall from a balloon at more than 100,000 feet. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
